Building on the achievements of the 50/50 Group in Sierra Leone, 50/50 USA chapter was launched with the 50/50 Group in Serra Leone as the parent organization. The overarching of ‘more women, better politics’ remains fundamental to the core of all the work of 50/50 Group’s Chapters.

The establishment of 50/50 USA Chapter was to target Sierra Leoneans living in the USA with the goal of advocating for gender parity. The 50/50 USA chapter creates a medium through which women and girls living in the US can give back to Sierra Leone through advocacy, fundraising, and mentorship.

This chapter works on empowering women living in the USA and, in turn, inspiring young girls and women living in Sierra Leone and other countries. Having different women from different walks of life makes it possible to get mentors and opportunities to seek grants from different organizations in the USA that will help promote the health and wellness of girls and women.
